Summary of Job:
| Reporting to the Senior Social Worker, the incumbent is responsible for assisting with the planning, organizing, implementation and monitoring of a consistently structured self-sufficiency programme and ensuring that every resident (able-bodied and physically challenged) is identified for an activity according to their capability. In contributing to the holistic development of the residents, the incumbent should assist in creating opportunities for residents’ participation in vocational, cultural, spiritual and recreational activities as well as spearhead the engagement, organization and monitoring of various local and international groups in participation of these types of activities. |
| Administrative Responsibilities: Participates in the development of the department’s Annual Work Plan Compiles weekly records of all accomplishments and submits monthly reports to Senior Social Worker Develop forms and records to document program activities Manage the collection and maintenance of records for residents who participate and attend various programs for statistical and accountability purposes Technical/Professional Responsibilities: Works with the Senior Social Worker in organizing, implementing and monitoring a vibrant structured self-sufficiency program for the able-bodied, physically challenged and mentally challenged residents. Develop a program evaluation framework to assess the strengths of the program and to identify areas for improvement Develop funding proposals for the programs to ensure the continuous delivery of services and submit to the Senior Social Worker for review Collaborates with internal stakeholders in ensuring that these self-sufficiency activities are executed efficiently. Liaises with the Senior Social Worker in organizing appropriate recreational activities for residents. Develop new initiatives that will aid in expanding the range of services offered at the Residents Skills Center and that will function as a catalyst for inviting external parties to register with the Skills Center. Maintain a work/activity production schedule for residents and ensures its implementation. Assist in conducting interviews of residents to determine their interests, skills, willingness and ability to participate in occupational activities/programmes that serve to motivate them and function as an occupational therapy for them. Act as liaison representative as well as liaises with the Senior Social Worker regarding the organization, structuring and monitoring of service oriented activities/events being offered by external entities/cluster sponsors for residents on the various clusters Create a schedule of resident activities and upon approval of same by the Senior Social Worker, submit same to the General Manager, Operations Manager, Cluster Supervisors and Matron on a weekly basis. Collaborates with external organizations to engage the participation of residents in their cultural events/ activities Ensures that all resources required for any program or activity are requested in timely manner to avoid unnecessary breaks in activities Analyses programmes and implements changes wherever necessary Researches, liaise with established internal committees in identifying new projects Establish clubs and societies and contacts with other senior citizens groups locally and internationally, arranging pen friends visits, social and religious interests. Collaborates with internal stakeholders in organising sports programme and arrange for friendly competitions. Organises internal and external craft markets and open days where the residents work can be marketed. Researches and identifies external markets for residents work. Ensures that all proceeds from marketing of items are properly accounted for and directed to the Finance and Accounts department. |

| Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience |
| Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Communications or a related field Two (2) years’ experience in Program and Event Planning or Project Management Two (2) years’ experience in Social Work Training in working with the elderly, those who are mentally and physically challenged and or other vulnerable groups |
